The Sacramento County Airport System provides efficient planning, development and operation of public air transportation facilities in Sacramento County and adjoining areas. The Sacramento County Airport System is comprised of four airports: Sacramento International Airport (SMF), Mather Airport (MHR), Executive Airport (SAC) and Franklin Field (F72). Sacramento International Airport (SMF) is located 12 miles northwest of downtown Sacramento along Interstate 5 in the heart of the six-county Sacramento region. Located just over an hour away from downtown Napa, SMF is served by one commuter and 13 major air carriers offering over 150 daily scheduled nonstop flights to more than 50 nonstop and direct cities. Airport staff regularly meets with air carriers to expand the network to additional domestic and international cities.
